| Kalka Community is about 15kms by road from Pipalyatjara. It lies on the northern side of the Tomkinson Range. Currently about 12 families are resident. The population is around 150 (Feb.2004). Of these around 32 school age children travel to Pipalyatjara each day on the school bus. | ||

In earlier days it was also known as Mount Davies after the tallest local peak.
